DoD's software technology plans: what do they mean for KBSE, and what does it mean for them?

Barry W. Boehm, Morton Hirschberg, Richard Jüllig, Randall Shumaker, Douglas White

Abstract

The objectives of the author are: to identify and discuss the major implications of the US Department of Defense's (DoD's) software technology planning for research and development in the area of knowledge-based software engineering (KBSE); and to offer the KBSE research community an opportunity to comment constructively on that planning. They explain how KBSE research efforts and DoD software technology planning can influence and support each other.>
